A couple of months ago, I had the opportunity to work with the beautiful Cara Ovis, an actress and model in Albuquerque looking for some Headshot Photography. She had been referred to me through her agents at Mitchell & Presley Talent Agency and I was happy to help her get some new headshots to accompany he budding acting career in Albuquerque.
Cara took my advice, and also hired my makeup artist, Kata Baron of The Pretty Committee. Not only does Kata help make you look your absolute best, it also makes the whole process and images look better as a result. With headshot photography, you’re not able to do much heavy photo retouching on the images, so having a professional make up artist on set always makes you look better than without. I highly recommend all of my clients use a makeup artist for this headshot sessions.
To really diversify her look, Cara chose to hire both Kata and myself for two different headshot sessions – one outdoor and one indoor. That way, we were really able to extend our reach of diversity, as my studio work is very Los Angeles in style, while the outdoor stuff is pretty common in New York industries. But the sessions were within a week of each other and really helped get Cara a lot of great photos to use for her portfolio and headshot. I’m working currently on making various headshot photography packages that allows people to take advantage of a similar style.
Aside from acting, Cara also competes in fitness competitions all over the United States and has won various awards including Miss Bikini America in 2011. She decided to peruse acting as the industry here in Albuquerque is booming, and there is a lot of opportunity for someone who is as ambitious as Cara is.
