A few weeks ago, I was able to work with my friend and Los Angeles architect Jorge Colon to work on getting him some new headshots for his business here in LA, as well as grab some other photos for him to use for marketing purposes for the architect firm he works at in downtown LA. The end result is we got some really great shots for Jorge to use, and some great photos that blend Jorge with some of the unique and interesting architecture here in Los Angeles.
I met Jorge years ago back when I (and him) were both living in Albuquerque, NM. Jorge was in Albuquerque working as a professor of architecture at the University of New Mexico, and I met him through my friend Jen, who is both a photographer and an architectural designer that I’ve worked with several times on photography projects, and has been mentioned multiple times on this photography blog.
A year or so ago, Jorge and Jen moved to Los Angeles, and have been a great point of contact when I came to visit the city. And now that I’ve moved to Los Angeles myself, they’ve became neighbors of mine, and continue to be great friends to have here in the city. So I was really excited to collaborate with Jorge to get new photos for him to help further advance his already successful career here in Los Angeles.
For the session, we shot quickly in their neighborhood to get some really great headshot photos for him to use for his needs. These photos took all of 10 minutes or so, and then we decided to get a different look, and head to downtown Los Angeles to get a change of scenery. We ended up getting some really cool photos from the day, and had a good time hanging out to boot.
These photos were also used for a recent article I wrote for LensRentals, where I explain how I create my Los Angeles headshots for actors and business people. If you’re looking for more of a techy, informative look as to how, that is the blog post you’ll want to check out.
