If you follow my blog or my work, you’ve likely seen photos of Los Angeles Actor and Model, Trevor Wayne before. He’s one of my closest friends here in LA, so often, if one of us has an idea for photos, we’ll get in touch with the other party to push ideas around. Well, after working with Trevor dozens of times, I saw what he was using for a headshot, and decided that it was time for him to get an update, and work on some headshot photography in the process.
Most of the work Trevor and I have done in the past, involves his work as a male model for LA Models. He’s been signed with them for a number of years, but he’s also signed with HRI as an actor, and has an active life in the acting scene as well. And as something I’ve talked about hundreds of times here on this blog, as an actor, your calling card is your headshot. It’s important to hire a headshot photographer who knows what they’re doing and is able to get a shot that represents you the best so that you can continue to book more work as an actor. I figured since headshot photography in Los Angeles is my bread and butter, I should help my friend out with his headshot game, and get him some options for upcoming castings.
Because I now have a portrait and headshot photography here in Los Angeles, I decided to get some photos of Trevor both in an outdoor environment, as well as some nice and clean headshots in the photography studio. The result was that we were able to get two very different looks for his headshots, giving him and his agent more options when walking into a casting call.
Because of the report that Trevor and I have after working together so frequently, this session only took about a half hour total, doing both the outdoor headshots and the in-studio headshots. When you have great light (Profoto B2s for the outdoor work, Kinoflo 4Banks for the studio), and a subject who is comfortable in front of the camera, the process comes really naturally and easily.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Trevor in upcoming productions and follow him on Instagram to see more of his work as a male model. And if you’re interested in knowing more about my headshot photography sessions in Los Angeles, feel free to get in touch with me.
