A few years ago, before I moved to Albuquerque, I was photographing plenty of weddings for couples in Michigan. Eventually however, I got burnt out, and stopped shooting them upon moving to Albuquerque. I was however, working as a second photographer and helping other various photographers where I could. Well, I suppose all of that working with others made me find the love for weddings again.
A month or two ago, I had the pleasure of working with Erin and Evan Locke as their main photographer on their wedding day. Not only are they the greatest couple ever, flooded with some of the best support from friends and family I’ve ever seen, but they also had an absolutely gorgeous wedding filled with love, laughter and all in all great times.
They decided to get married in Ruidoso, NM, even though they both live in Albuquerque. Erin is from Ruidoso, and has always dreamed getting married in their deep forest. Upon meeting Erin and Evan, I was happy to travel the few hours to photograph their wedding. We ended up battling weather the entire day, as we were in the middle of storm season, but as usual, the weather cleared up right before the ceremony, and stayed clear for the remainder of the night. This morning rain provided some stress early on, but also provided lush colors from the lively plants. Overall, the day was truly perfect, and I’m excited to be the one to help document the day. Special thanks to Jennifer Garrett Photography for assisting and being the second photographer for the day. Some of my favorite photos from this wedding are posted below.
Again, special thanks to Erin and Evan for choosing me as their wedding photographer. Not only was your day special for you, but it was for me as well. I feel rejuvenated, and reminded why I loved weddings so much a couple years ago. Expect plenty more wedding photos from me in the next year or two.
