I’ll be giving a lecture on photography, talking about my career as a photographer, and showing my process to get the best, most real shots I can. This lecture if free to the public, and will be in Ann Arbor on January 4th at Photo Studio Group. If you’re free and in that area, please feel free to stop by, as it’ll be more like a cool party than a stiff lecture, I promise.
I’ll also have some of my original work on the walls for viewing.
CAPTURING PERSONALITY THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY
In some ancient cultures, cameras are believed to take the souls of those they photograph, modern cultures know this simply is not true. However, capturing personality is certainly possible. Watch as Zach Sutton guides you through his work flow and process, to capture photos that are environmental, confident, and full of heart.
Artist Statement
Zach Sutton is a professional photographer based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. With an engineering-based approach to technical mastery and the eye of an artist, he transforms his subjects into a haunting landscape of emotion and individuality. Each photograph is a choreography of subject-photographer relationship, lighting, contrast, and color, representing pieces that are not merely captured, but truly designed. As a body of work, his images create a structure of internal experience ranging from thought, imagination, memory, beauty, and desire.
I hope to see you all there!
