Yesterday morning, I woke up and drove to the Bosque in Northwest Albuquerque to meet up with my friend Harmony to take some photos. We wanted to capture something dreamy and whimsical and really play it off like we were awake when in fact neither of us are morning people. The shoot was all very last minute, since I received a FujiFilm X100S in the mail just a couple days earlier, and wanted to get some test shots with it. Overall, I really liked the X100S, however, I found myself going back to my trusted DSLR, as its just a system I’m more familiar with. The colors in the Bosque were great and the morning glow from the Albuquerque sun provided a beautiful light for the session.
Anyway, here are some of the photos we were able to capture.
Its no secret that I do headshot photography. Since moving to Albuquerque, it has become something that I do often. With the booming film industry, I’ve been able to get a lot of work from the local agencies who need new head shots for their talent. This recent shoot was one of those cases. Meet Justin Golding, an actor and director from the Santa Fe area. I was able to work with Justin a couple weeks ago in studio and we were able to get some really great photographs for him to use in his acting portfolio and as a headshot. Justin recently signed with A&M Talent House in Santa Fe, NM and is looking to jump start his acting career here in New Mexico. Not only was Justin incredibly photogenic, but was also awesome to work with. This man is charming, fun loving, and most importantly, an Arrest Development fan. Anyway, here are some of the photos we were able to create when he was in my headshot studio.
I had worked with Samantha Fowler before when I first move to Albuquerque, New Mexico nearly a year ago now. Well, I recently found some time to work together again and we began planning. I was fortunate to have to help of B-Rae from The Pretty Committee to handle the makeup, Santi from Inspire Salon here in Albuquerque to handle hair, and my dear friend Lori to help with wardrobe. We found this wonderful uprise in the NE Heights that showed off the Sandia Mountains in the background in all their glory. We also couldn’t ask for better weather for the shoot. The ABQ skies were bright blue, no wind and absolutely perfect conditions for portrait photography.
Also, Samantha is represented by the Phoenix Agency here in New Mexico. Anyway, here are some of the photos.
